ABOUT US

In 1939, Thousand Acre Farm was purchased by Fritz and Augusta from the Federal Land Bank of Springfield, Massachusetts after immigrating to the US from Germany through Ellis Island.  Ironically Augusta was the original Farmher™, and Fritz, a skilled Tool and Die maker, together followed their American entrepreneurial dream starting a chicken farm, broilers in particular and later on during the war, they slowly grew the cow/dairy herd.  In the 60s the farm transitioned to Maggie and Richard (son). The dairy farm grew, modernized and became a “Dairy of Distinction”. Today owned and operated by 3rd generation Christina (daughter) and Christopher, who no longer milk but transitioned into beef and commercial hay production. Cattle, whether milking or beef, have always been the first and foremost priority.   Care and comfort equal quality and safety in the products we produce.  We provide the most updated healthcare and environmentally sustainable practices to ensure the future of our farm for future generations.
